Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar disorder presents in different phases over time. Treatment usually involves pharmacotherapy with combinations of different classes of medication and frequent medication revisions.6
Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia imposes a significant health, emotional and psychological burden on those who suffer from it.6 Many South African patients do not receive adequate treatment for mental health conditions, partly due to costs.7
Migraine
Migraine is a major contributor to public ill health.8 It is ranked globally as the 7th most disabling of all diseases and is the leading cause of disability among all neurological disorders.9
Insomnia
Chronic insomnia is the most common sleep disorder with a prevalence ranging from 10-50%.10,11 Improper or delayed diagnosis can lead to serious health problems and early accurate assessment is essential to guide treatment.10
