Who are we
Sandoz South Africa’s portfolio of prescription medications ranges from Schedule 2 to Schedule 6.1 It includes multiple medications, formulations and dosages for the treatment of numerous conditions including cardiovascular and central nervous system treatments, anti-infectives and pain relief, respiratory and gastrointestinal treatments, and oncology, endocrinology, immunology and transplant medications.1
Because we are the generic division of Novartis, our manufacturing is managed by Novartis Technical Operations (NTO), ensuring our generics meet the same quality, ethical and innovative standards as their originators.2,3
By providing such a broad and varied portfolio of high-quality generic prescription medications, Sandoz aims to improve the affordability of these medicines and, in doing so, to improve access to them for patients throughout South Africa.4
We also work hard to ensure our medicines are available in the public health sector. We currently offer 23 medications in this sector, including biosimilars, general anti-infectives, treatments for pain and tuberculosis, and oncology, transplant, central nervous system and cardiovascular medications.5
